We had a very hectic month of February working on the house, packing, and moving out of our beach place. Luckily, my parents came down to help at the end of the month. I barely survived, but massive amounts of coffee and chocolate helped. The kids and I have been in Friday Harbor for a few weeks with my parents while the house is getting finished... or close to move in ready. Right now the drywall is getting finished and they will start painting this week. We are all missing Jason lots and are excited to get home to see him. Jaxon is having a wonderful time running around and visiting his Washington friends and family. Scarlett is perfect as ever and it is so nice to be able to relax for a bit and give her more attention. She is changing quickly and is now 2 and a half months old. She is smiling lots and starting to coo when you talk to her. She likes to look at baby toys and is just starting to bat at them. (These pictures are all out of order bc it's late and I can't figure out how to edit on my dad's computer!)

Let the Countdown Begin...

We are officially moving out of our beach house at the end of the month. Whether or not we will actually have a house to move in to is up for debate at this point...
New garage door, and after it got installed Jason called on his way home from work saying he "Had to drive by and see his new baby" of course I thought he meant Scarlett. :) True story.
A lot has happened since my last house update but here are some of the highlights. The above picture is taken during the rainstorm we had a few weeks ago after Jaxon fell/purposefully walked straight in to it waist deep. This was formerly a koi pond and since it had a concrete liner it quickly filled up. That helped us decide that we wanted to take all the rocks out of the backyard. That led to...
This
And one happy bobcat driver
Rockless and level, we are ready for Smithy to come back to put a lawn in. (Hint, Hint!)
It is a pretty big backyard, by Southern California standards at least.
Last weekend's project was taking the face off of this fireplace so we could replace it. Or so we thought. Then we got a better look at the horrible condition the fireplace was put together to begin with. It would have never passed inspection and we would have had to rebuild the whole thing. So....
This ended up being the best option somehow.
We will just wall it off. There is another fireplace in the living room anyway.
Here you can see Scarlett's stroller in the yard. It is always carefully positioned so she is as far away as possible from the noise, dust, and overall demolition that is going on that day.
Don't worry, she still gets plenty of attention. Actually, when we are working at the house no matter what time of day it is, she manages to sleep almost the entire time!
We are on to her though, she just knows that if she wakes up, we will put her to work!

One Month and Moving

Scarlett Rose is one month old today!!! She has been such a great baby and has gained 2 pounds and 2 inches this month. :) Today was my first full day alone with two kids. So far, so good! We survived the grocery store, the playground, and two photo shoots! We miss my family lots, but it is nice to know I can handle it alone too.

We are moving at the end of February, but are no longer getting mail at our P.O. Box, so here is our new address.

Quick Update

If I'm lucky, I might actually get this posted! I have been meaning to update for weeks...
But this is what happens most nights 5 seconds after I put Jaxon to bed. I'm warning you, these pictures will be random and totally out of order, but this is the best I can do for now!
Jaxon has been such an amazing big brother. He is so sweet with Scarlett, he always wants to hold her and give him lots of hugs and kisses. She likes to visit him in his bed when he wakes up in the morning.
Santa on the beach, we had a fun Christmas.
Scarlett loves her bath
Jaxon loves her moses basket! (And I thought he outgrew it when he was 3 months old, what do I know???) :)
My little cupcake
Jason after a typical day of work on the house
The view from our hospital room at Hoag, it's worth having a baby for!!!
Scarlett on the jobsite
Our first pier to pier! Cute quilts made by TT.
New windows! (And new roof almost done)
Fence by Smithy
More soon!!!
We are lucky to have my parents still here with us, helping with Jaxon and on the house. They have been incredible! (We might not let them leave!!!)
