Scarlett Rose

Scarlett Rose was born on December 27th, another Christmas baby for us! Here are a few photos for now... She is basically Jaxon's twin sister born three years after him!
Welcome to the world baby girl!!!

So sweet! Apparently, Scarlett is always wanting to hold Jaxon's hand...

House Update

Here are some pics of what we have been up to lately, in between full time jobs and doctors visits of course!
My little worker bee
Jackhammer time
We are so lucky to have my parents here helping with the house and Jaxon. I really don't know what we would do without them.

Possible paint colors for the outside of the house... we are probably going with a light gray house and dark gray or black trim and brick
Jaxon's room colors- not sure yet.
Scarlett's room, we like "fairest of them all"
The big project over the weekend was getting rid of all the old insulation and ceilings
Here is what every single room in the house looked like... I just keep looking forward to the end result and reminding myself that next Christmas will be more enjoyable and relaxing!

Having trouble breathing yet???

Jaxon is Three!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAXON!!!
Jaxon turned three years old yesterday! It is hard to believe he is growing up so fast. Since this was his third birthday he insisted on three birthday parties. This one was at Frogg's Bounce House with all his buddies. Such a fun place!
Celebrating at preschool
And yesterday, amidst all the work we managed to celebrate again with our family. The real reason we had his party early this month was just in case I was in the hospital. :)

Work Party, Anyone?

Here are some more house pics for those of you interested. This blog is probably going to be about home improvements for a long time!!! Scarlett is still hanging in there, and believe me I did some labor-inducing work this weekend! Most of it involved a wheelbarrow and a dumpster.
Our lovely new couch and coffee table
This will be part of the new kitchen. Unfortunately, the peacock and couch will not be staying.
This wall will be opened up for the new kitchen
Jason loved doing the demo on the "Monkey House"
Lots of cleanup

The best little helper ever!
Yes, we did fill this entire dumpster, and yes, we are getting another one to fill this weekend!!! See you then!

All in a Day's Work

We closed last night on the house, so today we went to work bright and early! Above is the house before Arturo and his boys went to town on it today...
After
Before
After- it was crazy, the neighbors were coming over and saying they hadn't seen the side of the house in 30 years because it was so overgrown.
Before

Before
After....Going
Going...
Gone!
In case you were wondering what kept Jaxon busy during all of this, Uncle Brandon surprised him with 25 new Disney Cars and our current neighbor gave him a train table her son had outgrown. That plus "helping" us and he was busy all day long!

What a lucky guy! Not pictured is all the carpet being pulled up, drape removal, cabinet stripping, kitchen demo and general junk being taken out of the house. We are having a birthday party for Jaxon tomorrow morning and then it's back to work for us! There is still lots and lots to be done!

A Month in Review

I can't believe it has almost been a month since I last posted, but here are some of the things that we have been busy with.
Jaxon had a lingering cough forever, and when it sounded like it was in his chest we took him to the doctor. This picture was taken after his flu test, he was not a happy camper! The test was negative, but he did get some antibiotics to help with the cough.
All better!
Meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus with Alayna at Disneyland. We had a fun time, but it was super crowded and hot and at 9 months pregnant I might have been just a little crabby!

Thanksgiving with The Guysers
We made gingerbread houses after dinner, it was a lot of fun and will hopefully turn into a Thanksgiving tradition for us.
What has really been keeping us busy, busy, busy is our new house. We are signing escrow papers tonight and should be able to get to work by this weekend. And believe me there is no shortage of work to be done! We have decided to stay in our current house until the end of January so that's a relief. Just the idea of moving Jaxon and a newborn into a total construction zone was giving me panic attacks! It will by no means be finished when we do move in, but hopefully it will be getting there.
Any thoughts on the backsplash on the left? I really like it. Our cabinets will be similar to this color, but our countertops are going to be white.
Possible barstools???
